Pushing LTdL forward

PUTRAJAYA: A comprehensive plan will be drawn to ensure that the Tour of Langkawi (LTdL) will remain relevant in the world cycling calendar.

Although the Tour will be running its 17th edition from Feb 24, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said the move was necessary if the LTdL were to remain a prestigious event.

CYCLING: Malaysia unperturbed despite strong China show

CHINA flexed their muscles in Round Three of the UCI World Cup in Beijing, ahead of the Asian Cycling Championships in Kuala Lumpur next month, but alarm bells aren't ringing in the Malaysian camp just yet.

Brothers Zhang Lei and Zhang Miao posted the top two qualifying times for the 200m sprint yesterday as Malaysia's Edrus Yunos and Fattah Amri Zaid only managed 34th and 51st ranked qualifying times respectively.
